Satya Dharma Temple

Vihara Satya Dharma is a modern Chinese temple at Benoa Port, Bali. It is not a true vihara but rather a temple of the Three teachings ("''Tridharma''"), i.e. Budhhism, Taoism, and Confucianism. Furthermore, just like the other Chinese temples and viharas in Bali, this temple also have a Balinese Hinduism's altar in the corner of its outdoor yard.〔
The main deity of this temple is Nezha. As a temple which is built in the international port area, this temple worships the deities of travel safety, sailing, and business. This is the first Chinese temple in Benoa Port thus is expected to be a worship place for the sailors from various countries and also as a tourist attraction.〔
==Naming==
"Satya Dharma" (Sanskrit) means "faitful to the dharma". Many Buddhist worship places in Indonesia often use Sanskrit words as their names, especially in the Theravadan tradition. This Chinese temple uses the term ''vihara'' for its name although it is not purposely as a vihara. This term is used as a common name for so many Chinese temples in Bali and started from the time of New Order in Indonesia. Even thought after Confucianism was accepted as a legal religion in Indonesia, many new Chinese temples in Bali still use the term "vihara" as their names.
The Chinese characters above the name of "Vihara Satya Dharma" is written as 宮安保 or from the right to the left is read as ''bǎo ān gōng''. 保 (bǎo) means "to protect" while 安 (ān) means "content, quiet, peace", thus 安保 (ānbǎo) means "to maintain security". 宮 (gōng) character means "temple, palace". Literally, ''Bao An Gong'' means "the temple to maintain security". It is a common term for any Chinese temples in Indonesia which intends the safety of its followers, especially in the spiritual meaning.
